We are proud of our history and accomplishments.  Listed below are a few of the notable events since our founding in 1965.

1965 Albert Z. Szczepkowski founded SWEMCO as a prime contractor to the department of defense.
1965 First Commercial communications Satellite goes into service.
1971 Microprocessor was invented.
1973 Gene splicing was invented and cell phone communications begin.
1980 SWEMCO expands into automated computer aided manufacturing equipment.
1981 First personal computers roll off the line.
1982 SWEMCO takes the first step in its transformation from 100% DOD work to 80% DOD and 20% commercial business.
1985 SWEMCO transitions from first generation to second-generation business.
1989 SWEMCO elects Carl P. Szczepkowski President.
1990 World Wide Web / Internet is created.
1992 SWEMCO finishes the additional transition from DOD to commercial now standing at 80% commercial and 20% DOD.
1995 SWEMCO sold off the machine and sheet metal shops to focus all efforts on printed circuit board assembly and box build manufacturing and testing.
2000 SWEMCO builds new 36,000 sq foot state of the art manufacturing facility in Moorestown, N.J.
2002 SWEMCO purchased one of its largest local competitors with the addition of design engineering support making us a full turnkey supplier.
2004 SWEMCO breaks well into 8 digit sales. SWEMCO receives 125k training grant from State of New Jersey.
2005 SWEMCO elects Richard P. Szczepkowski President.
2005 SWEMCO transitions to ROHS Compliance with the addition of $750,000 thousand in new equipment.
2006 SWEMCO first contract manufacturer in the world to obtained QC 080000 certification for hazardous substance process management (HSPM) and Rohs compliance.
2008 SWEMCO receives 105k training grant from State of New Jersey.
2009 SWEMCO receives world class manufacturing award from OnPath Technologies.
2009 SWEMCO survives its 5th recession.
2010 SWEMCO receives world class manufacturing award from Tyco Industries.
2010 SWEMCO achieves ISO13485:2003 status.
2011 Awarded world class manufacturing award from TYCO electronics
2011 SWEMCO receives its third grant from the state of NJ for additional Lean Manufacturing training
2011 Purchased 1 million in new equipment including 2 high speed universal lines, a 13 zone vitronics oven, a second selective soldering station, along with several other pieces of equipment.
2011 Installed computer work stations for all employees as the first step in taking us to a paperless manufacturing system.
2011 SWEMCO was visited by congressman Jon Runyan to discuss the economic conditions for a US manufacturing firm coming out of the recent recession
2012 EDI system installed for automated purchasing with key suppliers
2012 Expansive growth in our engineering department capable of taking the lead on new design projects
2012 Phase one of paperless production automation implemented
2012 Awarded world class manufacturing award from Tyco electronics
2013 Purchased ½ million in new equipment including high speed SMT, selective soldering, environmental testing and much more.
2013 Installation of Altium engineering software running in parallel to Cadence Allegro
2013 The loss of our Founder Albert Z Szczepkowski
2013 SWEMCO receives 55k training grant from the state of New Jersey
2014 SWEMCO acquires the assets of DA-TECH Corporation, Ivyland, PA. Additionally, the company added AS9100 to our ISO13485 standard.
2017 SWEMCO opens ANNEX at Whittedale Drive and relocates Ivyland facility.
2018 SWEMCO purchased 1.5 million in additional new high speed SMT equipment.
2019 SWEMCO upgraded all wash systems to energy and water efficient systems, saving tens of thousands of gallons of water each year.
2020 SWEMCO broke ground on our new 56 thousand square foot 2 story addition.
